2010 Fantasy Football Draft #1

I won’t be analyzing every draft. But you can visit www.babybluemonkey and see all my drafts and the results. At the top of every page will be the numerical draft as it pertains to my first draft being #1. Other information will include the host of the draft and the dollar amount, the date of the draft, and what position I drafted in. While not the same as a mock draft this should at least give you an idea of what round players are getting drafted.

I settled down and loaded up the Fanball site and immediately thought it was a good omen for the season when I scored the #1 pick. I had my last second twinge as I picked

CJ but sink or swim he’s my #1 for the year. I decided then to get a quality WR while they were still out there. Unfortunately I passed on Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald and grabbed Marshall whom I mistakenly thought was the best WR on the board. I then regrouped and slowed down. I landed Ryan Mathews in the 3^rd which I considered great value then I had to snag Matt Schaub because surprisingly all the other tier 1 and tier 2 QBs were gone.

I then picked Mike Sims-Walker in the 5^thand Dwayne Bowe in the 6^th which I consider both to be value picks. Javid Best was still sitting around in the 7^th and I followed that up by picking Michael Bush and Marion Barber up. The only hole I had was at TE and I picked up the reliable Shiancoe which should have another underappreciated season with Brett Favre under center. I round out my picks with Best’s handcuff, a sleeper with upside in Aromashodu and Roethlisberger to back up Schaub once he gets back from suspension.

The first draft went well but there were a few surprises with people taking players too early or not taking them at all.
